Working Groups
WBF working groups provide members with an opportunity to conduct collaborative work on topics of interest. A working group may be formed by the collaboration of any two WBF members, and there is no limit on the number of working groups that can be active.
Working groups provide a formalized method for people of similar interests to work together, in a manner of their own choosing, to further develop manufacturing automation-related topics. The goal of working groups is to publish and share their work with the manufacturing automation community.
Whereas WBF conferences provide a means to exchange information about manufacturing automation on an annual basis, the use of working groups provides a complementary tool that can be active year round and provide a means for smaller groups of people to tackle issues in more depth.
WBF Working Groups "reside" in the WBF Communities section, where members of each working group can exchange messages, join working group-specific email lists, and post documents for review and revision. It is intended that working groups will be a benefit to WBF members by providing an unbiased means for the investigation and development of work items of interest to the members. The establishment of working groups and the publication of their results will also provide the working group members and WBF in general with a higher profile in the manufacturing automation industry.
